My mom has been suffering from arm pain in both of her arm's. She gets pain all the way up and down her arm's. The pain start's when she moves her arm's a certain way. As well as when she goes to pick something up. It even hurts her to squeeze shampoo out of a shampoo bottle. As soon as she is done with a task (ie: Pick up items ect.) the pain goes away. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being really bad pain she rates her pain at 8. But my mom is as tough as nails and has a pretty high pain tolerance. What could be causing this? It has been going on for at least 6 months.

Thank You in advance.

Sounds like my pain and I have a herniated disc in my neck.

She should see a dr. for a correct diagnosis though because it could be a number of things.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (SP?) ?????

Just my guess... I don't remember what the specifics are for it to be considered that.

I know I did have it in one arm as a kid from the minute repeated motions I used on the computer in this design program.... After the specialist did the test on my nerves with the electrified needles and said that's what it was, I had to stop all activity on the computer for a while and didn't use that arm for very much for a while, and it got completely better

and that I, too, experienced similar pain when I had this condition.... mine seemed to focus in my arm below the elbow and on the inside where the veins are.... could still be any number of things so she should see a doctor about it

Could be lots of things, but when you mentioned it hurts to squeeze a bottle made me think of my carpal tunnel. When it hurts it hurts bad. Squeezing something, holding a dish to wash it, anything that requires me to grip or twist my wrist. Sometimes something as simple as starting the car.

I also wake up with my hand or arm asleep. Sometimes so bad I can't even move it, at all.

Could be lots of other things, but something to consider.
