it is very annoying. i tend to get a lot of chihuahua hair on all of my clothes

That's probably why folks have begun breeding hairless dogs and cats.

When your grandkids come over show them the neat new toy you bought. Lintrollers! Kids love 'em. Although, you must keep the kids in seperate areas, 'cause little brother thinks he sees a lint in big sisters hair...potential bad moment.

Quote:
1. Hardwood and tile throughout the house. Carpet is a hair magnet.

2. Shop vac. Not the fancy household vacuums that cost a small fortune. Just a $50 shop vac with a crevice attachment. Not as pretty as a Dyson, but it works just as well--even better, because it can pick up the nasty barfs as well as the hair.

3. Washable slipcovers. Failing that, put sheets over furniture and take 'em off for guests.

4. Comb critters daily. That way, the majority of the hair is confined to the area where you comb them. Not all, but most.

5. Humans with long hair need to keep it braided or in a bun whenever they are not in the shower. Ponytails are insufficient to contain shedding. Ask me how I know.

We have two big fluffy dogs (Pyrenees & a Newfoundland), three cats (two shorthair, one longhair), and two longhaired humans.

And we vacuum once a week. Provided you never show up at our house on Day 6, you'd think it was pretty clean...

No cats. Dog lives outside most of the time (but not in summer).

I also wish chickens didn't molt... but alas, I'll live with that.
