went around medibang to see what I could find. found something spectacular.

(this is on the computer)

#1 is what TM was talking about the pixels that the bucket fills.

#2.... see that gap in the line art. :D you can still use the bucket to paint that if you X the close gaps box, and it even has a gauge for how big of a gap you want it to ignore.

Thanks. XD

I recommend looking for MediBang tutorials on YouTube. They can show you where the stuff is, what settings to change, what stuff you can use each tool for, etc.
Also, check out the official Medibang site. They have visuals and tips from great artists. :3
Or, my favourite advice: Press every button and see what they all do. XD

Thank you. XD

And, yes, Indoraptor. From the new Jurassic World movie. :3

Oh wow!
A fish, a frog, and a fly? XD
fish frog and grass hopper. ^u^

I am a fan of the press every button and see what it does method. I do watch turtorials occasionally too though.

Yup, there you go! ^-^
It's different on mobile, but it has the same settings; expand and ignore. XD

Did it fix the white gaps for you? :3

Yeeeeah... it is kind of over kill with the one picture I tried it on. it's coloring over some of the line art. but I think I just need a picture with more overall pictures... pictures.... PIXELS to test it on.

Oh yeah, it'll do that on thin lines or low PPI. XD

ok so this is obviously the drawing Fanci did for me....

@TamingMaster

I have 2 layers above the base skin color. one for highlights and one for shadow.
the highlight layer is set to ADD and 7% opacity. the shadow layer is set to MULTIPLY and 22% opacity. it looks weird.

the highlight seems to be a bit overkill. I've tried the other settings too, screen looks a little bit better, but still not right.

for some reason the highlight seems to want to be pale yellow.

here it is again with the highlight set to 50% and the shadow set at 100%

while coloring the highlight and the shadow I've had both available colors on my palate set to the exact same color as the base skin color. I don't understand why it's coming out yellow. I've tried changing the base color to have more red. I've tried adding red to what I should be coloring with, for just the highlight layer. it's not changing it. just tried full on black and it did nothing. I'm not sure exactly what I'm doing.

any thoughts?

So, firstly, "Add" basically adds white to whatever colour you use and shifts it's hue very slightly.
It can't be used with black because black has no base colour or light, which means it has nothing to shift or lighten.

I find that it never really works properly for pale skin colours, no matter what colour you use, so you might have to mix up a good highlight by yourself (a light, almost-white orange usually works well).

Honestly, I think the one with reduced opacity looks fine; maybe reduce the amount of highlight to just a few slightly brighter dots on more prominent areas (such as the shoulders, cheeks, and maybe a little on the nose)?
