Article on government crackdown on raw milk

They just want to control our lives, and have us do want they want us to live, and I hate that! THAT is destroying our freedom. It makes us dependence on the government, and it makes our country weaker, as we no longer have resolve, and a will to live.

Something tells me why we want stricter regulations on pasterized milk, eggs and pork..look at the living conditions of the animals and products they were in. The more numberous per facility, the more chances of getting the diseases.

Farmer's market is a better outlet, they know where the animals have been eating, better, uncrowded environments, etc. and we have to pay more to get better quality.

Something else is lurking in my brain.....with obesity and all that jazz, the RX companies are making money so if the government keep us sick, more money would be made for the companies or food companies made more of the bad thing by us eating more of the thing because it tastes good. Oh fun! Eventually everyone would die at an earlier death than us or our grandparents who were not subjected to processed products.

What do you think Tony Wieners' interests were? They are Politicians and cannot be trusted any of them. And yes the system does corrupt them the honest ones.

Actually Tony Wiener is a very good politician and is actually interested in his constituents. Unfortunately he was thinking with his Oscar Meyer. I'm disappointed in him only because he had a very good career ahead of him and could have gotten a lot of good things done. Sins of the flesh will always get you in a political environment and if you're married.

I agree that our campaign finance system is very flawed. Even the supreme court was corrupt on this one, proving that money can influence any of them.

Interesting stuff. Thanks for all you had to say MacinAbilene, very astute observations.
I have no problem with people buying raw milk. I do agree that if people want to sell it, that it must be from an inspected facility. Does not every restaurant have to pass a basic sanitation test? Could this not be the case for a raw milk dairy? I would also say that the milk should be containerized at the dairy and have a list of instructions on the container of how this milk should be taken care of and a list of problems that could occur if it not done so properly. Seems like a simple sane solution to me to please all of those involved.
The problem with the "I'll trust you, you trust me" method of doing business is unfortunatly you run into that one person who cuts corners because they are short on money or dont want to spend the money to do things the right way.....and they are the ones who are usually negligent when something bad happens. Those few individuals that act inappropriately are the squeaky wheel that gets the public in an uproar and forces new legislation.
I grew up around dairies, I have drank raw milk. I personally prefer the pasteurized stuff. Most of my friends who had dairies did not drink raw milk either though.
I dont like all of the butter fat in raw milk, and I cannot imagine the number of calories, etc that is in a glass of raw milk either.....

Also Mac, I am like you. I dont believe that everything in the world is a conspiracy...

So you're thinking this might be a conspiracy cooked up by the GOP? Kill people off to save money so it can be given to corporations. Meanwhile put more money in the pharma companies pockets. I could see that. It's low enough.

Actually I think Mac is pretty right on.

I drink our goats milk, but I don't know if I would trust milk from someone else.

I think the whole system is flawed, there needs to be a complete reboot, fire them all and start over.
