New babies! Just hatched! Daddy is a Welsummer and mom is an EE. ❤

This is Nutmeg, a barnyard mix(mom is an EE and dad is a Welsummer). Sadly, we lost her, two days ago, she was only two weeks old. But, this chick was the sweetest and quite photogenic! The other chick in the 2nd pic, is Nugget, another barnyard mix(mom Isa Brown, dad Welsummer). This one is a spunky little one too! Both were a week old, in these pics.

I'm so sorry to hear you lost one of your babies! They're both quite adorable in the photos.

I'm not sure if you're interested in non-chicken babens, but these are peachicks, I dont know what breed. 3 male, 1 female, but not sure which one is it the foreground. Young but I never got a hatch date.

Since you mentioned healthy and unhealthy... I thought of this. Peachick born with splayed legs, pic probably taken on hatch day. Second picture is the same bird with his (or her - unsexed) legs taped together, you can only see a teeny bit of the blue tape, but he is standing!

They are very adorable! For this piece, just chicks, but I wouldn't mind doing something with peacocks and/or guineas in the near future if my editor goes for it.
