Hi! I am new and I joined because I have been anxiously waiting for these little baby's to arrive. I put the eggs in 3 weeks ago at 7:30 am on Thursday and it is now Friday and no sign of anything. On day 20 we could here peeping and the eggs would rock every once in a while but nothing happens any more and it is day 22. This is my first time hatching eggs ever. there is also a duck egg supposed to hatch today too, the duck egg has now been in the incubator 28 days(I put it in 1 week before I put the chicken eggs in). Please help soon thank you!

If your humidity is above 65, I would take them out one at a time and candle, also tap the egg and listen. I had one in my last batch rocking and chirping that died in shell from malposition. I wish I had checked it sooner.

Do not put them in water, please!

What type of incubator are you using? Has the temperature been steady throughout incubation? If it was a bit low, that can cause slightly delayed hatches, so I wouldn't worry too much just yet. But candling now won't hurt. Just do it carefully.

Look for the air cell to be out of shape - what we call drawdown.
Like this: see how it starts moving into the fat end, this is what happens when they get into hatching position.

HI and thank you for all the help, I candled all the eggs and about 3 or 4 moved and none chirped. I couldn't tell with a couple of the eggs or the duck egg. Should I take some water out of the incubator?

I did not use the floating option, only one egg had that position and that was one that was not able to tell if it was moving or not. Should I pay attention to the way I put them back in the incubator with the air bubble up? I am using a JANOEL12 incubator
