The three amigos. The consensus on these three @ 8 wks was that they are all pullets, Now, @ 12 wks, I'm once again asking b/c of behavior. Two of the three run at each other, puffing out their chests, as though challenging each other. And, the larger of the three has started circling their pen/coop at night before going in to roost. Last one in. Seems like roo behavior to me. No crowing or trying to mount, yet. But last night when they were being chased a bit by the hens, the bigger one started growling! I've only heard a chicken growl when she's broody. So, hope these pics are sufficient. They act like I'm pointing a gun at them every time I try to get a good picture of them. First picture is of the one who was growling and circling. The second one, I'm pretty sure is a pullet. The third one is the challenger to the first one. Last picture is a look at all three of them together for comparison.
