Hi all,
My Great Pyrenees, KC, is scheduled to be put to sleep tomorrow evening. This guy is the only animal who's seen me grow up all the way through grade school, from 1st grade to my high school graduation. Being the sentimental-type person that I am, this is very hard for me to deal with.
Unfortunately, when my parents scheduled the vet to come up, they forgot that I have mandatory 2-day college orientation that I leave for tomorrow morning, so I won't be there for my boy.
I'm scared for him. Honestly, I fear death, I fear the unknown, the possibility of eternal and endless nothing. I just don't want him to be scared.

Please, all I ask for is a little prayer. I want him to be happy and not feel alone or scared. It would mean the world to me.

Thanks everyone.
Maddie

I'm so sorry you won't be able to hold him while he passes. I will remember you and him in my prayers tonight. He must have had a wonderful life. He won't know what is happening and shouldn't be scared. It sounds like the vet is coming to your house and your parents will be there for him.

Hi Maddie, Sorry for your loss. I am going through something similar. My dog died last nite. I have been crying all day. Our pets I believe do go to heaven. There are animals in heaven. There is a scripture verse that says it in the bible. Revelation 5:13

New International Version (NIV)

13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:

“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”

Psalms 50:10-11
"Every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the creatures of the field are mine."

Hope this brings comfort.

My Bebe, she was so sweet ate, a poisonous mushroom. She went into convulsions and her body just shut down and she died. She said goodbye to us by barking 3 times before she died.

Maddie if it helps you can share pics of your dog and tell us about him. You know you should not fear death because there is a place where those who believe will live for eternity in the peace and love of God. Ask God to give you a dream of him playing in heaven. He will be running and playing in heaven.

Here is a pic of my Bebe who passed away.

I will be keeping your KC in my thoughts. It is so heartbreaking to have to say goodbye... One of my dogs, Lily, was the dog I grew up with. She was like a sister to me. Putting her down in 2006 was the hardest thing I have ever been through. There were days I felt like I could hardly handle the loss--even thinking of those days now, I get a wrenching feeling in my chest. She was such an incredible dog, and her death just tore me apart. I wish him a peaceful passing, and for you...a feeling of peace as well. Wishing the best for everyone involved.
