Well done, Sapphire! You deserve CHOCOLATE!!!Very well.
Obviously, food is one of the supporters of life, the others being water and air. Food provides essential nutrients that our body cannot manufacture itself, and some of those nutrients are broken down further and made into other nutrients by our bodies.
In addition to nutrition, food also provides energy in the form of calories and carbohydrates. These two things are broken down into energy, which fuels our bodies and allows us to go about our lives.
A lack of food equals a lack of energy and nutrients. Lack of either of these essential things equals lack of development, energy, and strength. Lack of strength and energy equals lack of motivation and results in weakness and apathy.
Without food -- and thus, nutrients -- our body begins to slow down and things begin to go wrong. Our fat, without calories, slips away and leaves us thin and cold. Our bones, without adequate calcium, begin to weaken and become fragile and easily broken. Our cells do not have enough nutrients to absorb and use to reproduce. Our immune systems weaken and we get sick. We lose energy and motivation and thus stop moving around, which causes our muscles to atrophy and waste away. Our skin becomes dry and flaky, and our hair loses its sheen and may fall out. As a result of inadequate nutrients being taken in, our body tissues begin to break down and weaken, resulting in pain on contact and easy bleeding.
Lack of food while the body is still developing results in retarded growth and development, as again, the cells of our body do not have the required nutrients and calories to reproduce.
Food is incredibly important. Getting nutrition from actual food foods is better than getting nutrition from pills because the amount of nutrition amount is easier to control and because food itself provides those two things that out body uses for energy: Calories and carbohydrates. Fiber is extremely important for normal bowel function, too, and I don't think that that comes in pill form!
So, please -- eat well! If you can't eat a bunch in one sitting, then nibble on nutritious snacks throughout the day. Try to eat with others, too -- that's been shown to cause people to eat more in one sitting. Drink plenty of water, too!
Was that good, Kiki?
Also, I'm not really a nutrition expert -- I've just been reading medical books recently -- so if someone can tell me if any of this information is inaccurate, it would be much appreciated.
