Assist Hatch Emergency!!!

@hollyc997 If she's bleeding don't touch her anymore. With mine, despite being so late, she still had just barely absorbed her yolk and when I helped her out. Sometimes they're taking a while because they need too. Give her another hour or two, and try again. Pick a little bit of shell off (just the smallest flake), see if there's any blood, and if there is, give her a few more hours. Don't open the incubator too often though, as she might get shrink wrapped, and then she really won't be able to move at all.

thanks, i think it was under the membrane where it was bleeding, she started peeping when i tried to help.
The membrane where i peeled the shell of is dry, she is tapping and peeping though

I would still let her try on her own first. If she's peeping a lot and tapping, then that mean's she's still strong and energetic. Give her a chance to work it out, now that you've widened the hole. Assisting a chick is always a waiting game. If you rush, it could have horrible consequences. Just keep checking that she's peeping. If she gets too quite or tired, then try helping again, or if she makes no progress for another hour, then chip away a little more. Take it slow.

Okay thanks, there are two other hatched chicks but 6 other ones, its day 23 now do you have any idea if they will hatch they dont have external pips or internal i dont think
The two hatched chicks hatched at 3am this morning

Sometimes they are late. If they have no pip yet, don't interfere. It's only if they have pipped and are past the 24 hours mark that you should start worrying a bit.

the chick hasn't moved im worried its shrink wrapped should i help it its nearly been 40 hours since the pip

I just did what you said. She just hatched in my hands.
i put her back in the incubator along with her shell as the umbilical cord is still attached. What should i do im so shocked
