Assisting chick to hatch

Well, I found it dead earlier........................I tried.

You sure did. Sometimes that happens to loose one and it is sad but at least you tried. I had some chicks born with pneumonia and I have never had that before. They were shipped eggs. I started with tylan 200 in water and some got better and some I lost. If I have one that stays weak and doesn't perk up sometimes I cut off piece of beef liver and put it in chicks mouth toward back and get it to eat it. I feel they get anemic for some reason. That helps sometimes,. I always start giving drinks of sugar water right away and will leave them in incubator instead of putting in box so there temp is controlled and that helps too. I will wrap them in washrag to keep them from getting spayed legs and from fall on back too. I hope this helps someone with hatching. Is always hard to know when to help and what to do but by tying them off you give them a chance they wouldn't have gotten
