Assorted Bantams

Hi and welcome

Several appear to be bantam cochins or crosses of them. I'm not seeing a lot of evidence of silkie breeding, but I'm no expert.

No 2, 10 and 11 are looking like probable cockerels at the moment but they are a bit young to be sure and others may be slower developing. Give them another few weeks and post new photos then.

I'm guessing they were just young chicks when you got them as they don't look much older than 4-5 weeks.

I added 9 silkie baby chicks to my clan of 11 other chicks I will try and get up dated pics of the other 11 later

My 3 silverish blue ones have blue feet so I'm saying silkie mix

My 2 white with black I was told look like Japanese bantom

The other 6 I believe are couchin bantom

Genders still uncertain but my guess is at least 3 roos

I'm afraid I count 6 x Roos....Nos 1, 2, 5, 8,10 and 11
No 9 I'm not certain of, but suspicious, the other 4, (Nos 3, 4, 6 and 7) I'm pretty confident are pullets.
Looks like you have about as much luck with pullet:roo ratio as I do :(

I'm afraid you're right

Isn't that just bad luck. Someone else must get a lot of pullets to balance the odds because that's the sort of ratio I get with cockerels too! I've had 7 broody hatched clutches this year and so far all but one has had more cockerels than pullets and the other one appears to be 2 of each! Last year was the same. Hoping the broody I just set is going to redress the imbalance all in one go.... ever the optimist!!
