ByCers, I hope you can come to my rescue with ideas because I have none.

My boyfriend's sister offloaded these "dog houses" on him a few years back. They've been sitting in his backyard doing nothing except collecting dirt (and cobwebs). He wants them put to use, or gone. I'm certain that there is something chicken-y that can be done with them, but I am drawing an absolute blank.

Does anyone have any ideas?

edit to mention that they are about 5 foot long not counting the overhang. They are large enough inside that a lab can turn around inside it easily, I forgot to measure the inside width.

ditto on the brooding...

cut them in half and make twice as many half-barrel nest box/broody hen houses

stand them upright and store your feed

slice them in half long ways dig a pit and make a pond... because you never know when you're going to have ducks. you've got enough for 2 ponds there, with the other half left over for broody chicken shelters.

Why don't you use them for a dog house???

Sorry couldn't resist.

But seriously, With a tank heater and a small pump, you could use them for winter water storage close to the coop so you didn't have to carry it, If you have to carry it that is...
