At what age can babies go outside??? (florida)

Ours will be going out by the end of the weekend, but they will only be in the almost finished coop. It will be secure and well ventilated and they will still be in their brooder box out there for a few more days. Their run will not be finished until over July 4th weekend or early the week of the 4th. My concern has been too much heat. Since they aren't completely feathered out, I don't want them to get too hot. Tomorrow, I'm off work, so Lou Ann is putting a thermometer in the coop in the morning and I will stop by several times during the day to see just how warm it is getting in there. We will do that a few days before moving the chicks out. By the time they move out, they will be 3 weeks old. If needed, a fan will be added, at least in the window so it can pull out any hot air. I can't believe how worried I am about letting them be outside, even if they are still going to be in the brooder box. I think I'm a just a little bit protective!

I'll let mine out at 4 weeks, but in a heat wave, I'd keep them inside for a bit.

And yes, they might if they're small enough.

I have six 3 week old girls and am wondering the same thing. Our climate is 60's in the day and low 50's at night. I wasn't planning to install a lamp in their coop, but was hoping that in a couple of weeks they would be ok outside closed in their coop at night even without that. Am I wrong?

I'm not in florida or even close, but our chicks were outside in the coop since day 1 (well, day 2-they were mail order chicks). We put a heat lamp out there for them and checked on them a lot.
