At what age should I be able to sex a cochin???

I have some young cochins. 2 are 16 weeks and 2 are 8 weeks. I cannot get pic of them right now. battery is dead. Thanks

The 16 week ones should be obvious. At 8 weeks? Iffy.

Sometimes you can tell when they are very young- roos tend to have naked backs, and girls will be fully feathered sooner. It can also depend on what color the cochins are. Blue are easy to sex- the roos start out a lighter blue than girls, and get their dark back feathers much later. Of all my splashes- the roos have darker splotches and the girls were pretty pale to start.
