At what age?

Hello Fellow BYC Members,

Can ya'll tell me when it is okay to feed chick/pullets veggie scraps? I have three week old chicks and currently feed them starter/grower crumble and they eat bugs and pick through the hay that I lay down in their coop-condo.

My grandparents had a farm with lots of chickens but I was too young to remember what they said.

Offer then anything you offer your hens, just in smaller quantities and make sure that they have access to grit. You don't have to buy it, just give them some dirt.
