Ataching hardware cloth advice

Quote:
I would recommend against using the plastic wire ties. The sun breaks down the plastic and once they're weak they pop off and have to be replaced - and hopefully you notice in time. I've used them multiple times for outdoor applications but found they only last about a year if outdoors all the time so IMO its just better to do it right first time around.

Wanna, If you go with the metal post kennel and want to enclose it with hardware cloth get some so-called "fender washers" and self tapping metal screws to attach it with. Fender washers are available at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. They are fairly large diameter and have a small center hole. They will definitely secure the wire to the frame. Also for complete security cover the entire top with 2"x 4" welded wire. Don't use chicken wire as any racoon can tear thru it and gain entry. Your endeavor will no doubt be a little pricey but will look great and what price can you put on peace of mind that your flock is safe? Go for it!!
