actually that whole post doesn't make sense. Creationism does NOT line up with science. I know folks like Ken Ham try to make it align (by the way, got brutally defeated in a debate about this exact subject. I watched it very open minded, crazy I know, and genuinely trying to learn.) I won't even get into it all, just go watch the Bill Nye Ken Ham debate. Watch for yourself, with an open mind. Anyways gentle reminder again that being Christian does not mean you have to be some fundamentalist creationist.

Why does anyone have to atone for our sins, though? Supposedly, the Christian God is all powerful and loving; so why doesn't He simply forgive without requiring a human sacrifice in order to do so?
Exaaaacly.... if god is god, then what higher standard was he being held to that the only way to fix HIS mistakes was to create a hybrid man god thing and send it to earth to be tortured and killed in the worst way possible.... bc a woman made out of a rib was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. This twisted and brutal story comes from the mind of man, not a perfect an all loving diety.

I absolutely loved that debate. It was amazing.... Bill Nye is incredible.

Ok, to define Christianity I would say..

in order to get to heaven we have to have a relationship with Jesus.
see already.. that's assuming that's true. Me personally if I am a Christian I'd be a universalist. Makes the most sense to me. I feel like bare minimum would be there is a God and Jesus sacrificed himself, resurrected, that's really it. I mean really that's all that's in the apostles creed right that we can use as a bare minimum?

Oh it's wonderful. You know what's funny is I watched it and was still desperate to try to be Christian or open minded to it, (this is how open minded I am see!) so I went to my family's pastor, asked him for advice. I kid you not, he hears what I say, my troubles, I didn't mention Ken Ham specifically by the way. He goes basically this guy I think really could help you, he has a website here let me write it down for you.. hands it to me. It's Ken Ham. I'm just in shock, I think I mumbled a thanks and left. I was pretty lost at that point, then the next time I attended was that deeply homophobic sermon where I teared up, then atheism for some years, then so on..

How is this, true?? Agnosticism is literally saying I don't claim to know or be set on anything lol. For me it's literally I'm completely open minded. Genuinely how does that make sense to you, what are agnostics clinging to? Lol
Agnostics are clinging to the idea that either they "don't know anything", or they "can't know anything". By clinging to "I can't know anything" they're clinging to their ignorance, refusing to be educated, and calling that truth (which totally defeats the argument because, how do you know you can't know anything?). Or they're clinging to the idea that "I don't know anything" how do you know that you don't know anything!?!?

Atheist aren't open minded unless they're not atheists, e.g. "I'm an atheist because I believe there is no god. We all just popped out of nothing and we exist for nothing and we will die for nothing." Where is your proof that god doesn't exist? Can you prove that we popped out of nothing?

Well educated christians have proof, which in turn makes it so that they can be confronted with questions and consider these things (be open minded) and reply with solid evidence.

I hear you, ken ham is shocking to say the least! Looking back, I realize how homophobic my church and the people I was forced to surround myself with really were. When I got out into the real world, I realized that I loved gay people! They weren’t evil pedophiles like I had been taught.... started wondering what else wasn’t true and on it went from there. It pains and embarrasses me to remember there was once a time when I told a gay person they were mentally ill.... I realize now that I was the one who was mentally ill and atheism saved me.
