Hi everyone, I am working on my run and was wondering what people use to attach hardware cloth to hardware cloth to make it secure. I can only find 3 ft width here

thanks

David

I just clipped the last line off and used the protruding ends to overlap and bend over. Or some bailing wire.

Oh my gosh hardware cloth is a PITA to hang up. Hubby and I were doing that today and I just couldn't get this one side straight... so I had to just breath and say It's just a chicken coop... I used screws and washers ....

Tomorrow I am hanging the chicken wire on the upper portion... Blah is all I am going to say, and I am using poultry nails for that part.

Most folks use the screw and washer to get a secure attachment.

When I built my chicken tractor I used my DH's staple gun....and the compressor....nice deep staples.

BUT when I did the top on the run I used zip ties.....I know they will degrade in the sun over time but at the first sign I will replace them.

WEAR GLOVES AND LONG SLEEVED SHIRTS.

thanks, do you guys use hardware cloth for the roof too, or is chicken wire safe enough. I am not sure if predators climb the sides and try to get to the top.

thanks, I plan on locking mine up for the night but during the day and night, would chicken wire on top, and hard ware cloth on the side be safe?

We are putting hardware cloth on mine very similar to the one in the post above - actually got the idea from her! Thanks Georgiagail!!

I will be posting pics of mine when it is complete (hopefully tomorrow if it does not rain)
