We have a female turkey and some ducks that get housed together at night. R turkey has selected a duck to pick on. One time she pecked at its eye so we separated them. They roam the yard together during day and she's fine with them then. We needed the space and started housing together since they were getting along. After a week she attacked the same duck again to the point that its now blind. Why does she only pick on this one duck? She leaves the others alone. She is normally very gentle and will follow u around like a dog wanting to b petted.

Turkeys will often attack other poultry species and can kill them. Turkeys should only be housed with other turkeys in my experiences as they are prone to mood swings and seem to enjoy fighting sometimes. It's best to house them separately with supervised free ranging, so when they get rowdy they can be rounded up and the other birds can have some peace.

Thank u. We have separated the turkey and she pretty much keeps to herself while the ducks and her r free ranging.
