I’m so upset I lost my midnight majesty maran Georgia Boots today, I just found her in the yard, in the taller thin and I mean thin grass grass. Not dragged under cover. I couldn’t find much for any injury.

I’m going to attach a photo only to help discover what type of predator I’m dealing with. No other chickens were injured or missing. They’re free range.

Of course I was at work and not home when this happen. Although I think it was quick she had a beak full of clovers so I feel it was quick and painless. 🤞🏻😞

Sorry for your loss. Here's how to upload photos.

I appreciate it, i will post photos tomorrow. I believe my cell service is garbage at the moment. It appears it only ate stomach and innards..

I was leaning towards hawk also, I have seen a few around but they were all small. Must be one was brave enough to try today. I think they’ve got me patterned and have my work schedule down. It’s war hawks ☣️

You recommend keeping them cooped up..? I just hate keeping them cooped up especially in the heat we’ve had 80’s
