Attention Muscovy lovers

I took another pic of my eggs so you can see how I have them marked. They a pretty dirty, the week they were laid it rained everyday and the ducks are free range so the laid them under the porch in the mud. Nothing is caked on, just stained by the red mud. I'm debating warming up the other incubator and splitting them up for lockdown?? I wonder if it would make a difference to give them more room for hatching??

In a nest they are closer than what you have pictured. Make sure they have plenty of air though. My eggs were dirty looking and stained too.

You are putting them in "lockdown" on what day of incubation? Best of luck!

Dianne88, I had such a problem keeping the little ducklings dry until I made the waterer out of a milk jug. They have no problem drinking, the water stays cleaner AND they stay DRY. First one I made, I made the holes too big and they could get inside, but this one they can just their heads through comfortably.

Absolutely no mess and the area stays dry, even hours later.

Good idea, I might have to try it. All your ducklings are very Beautiful! Glad to hear that they are doing well!

Ok I candled my eggs an in most of them the air cell has gotten a lot bigger but there are a few with just a tiny bit of change also some still have empty room at the pointy end while others are completely full. Maybe I'm worried over nothing, anyone with advice let me know lockdown is tomorrow. Also, I have one egg #18 which have little to no movement, I've left it in and will candle again tomorrow. Thanks guys!!

I can't help much, but I do remember some of mine having almost as much clear liquid as air sac in the other end. Mine absorbed it late in the stage though. A few of mine had no movement, but were ok. Don't give up.

Thanks, just worring! Here's a pic of Solo taken just a few min ago. He's such a mess!! He has a swimming pool made from an epidural tray with a paper towel in the bottom so he won't slip too much.

I work in the Surgery Center so I bring home disposable things I think I could use for my furry babies ;). He uses his teddy for a step to get in and out of his pool. LOL
