Solo is one week? WOW, it seems like only yesterday, time flies. Probably cause I'm having "labor pains"! Beautiful little duckling, and looks like Solo will be light colored too!

I candled last night and all 14 are still moving. Some have empty room at the pointy end and some are completely filled, not sure if that means anything? All of them have the air cell in the correct place and it has increased in size. Lockdown is on Sunday, I guess I'll play it by ear?? Hope I won't need to help but I'll be standing by!! I'm going to raise the humidity at that time and cross my fingers!Dianne88, how many more days and how many do you have in the 'bator? Time should be drawing near if you are going to "lock down". You going to raise the humidity or leave it during the final days? Make sure you candle and see when they internally pipped and which side of the egg has the most air sac. I know a couple of mine died because I intervened too soon, but if I didn't intervene I might have lost all.......it's a question I'll never have the answer to. It sort of bothers me in that I'll never know if I did the right thing or not. Just do what you feel is right.![]()

I increased my humidity a little today, getting ready for lockdown. Funny how the temp can be so different, one on top of the eggs and one on the far side level with the eggs. I rotate them around when I turn them 3 times a day just incase there's a hot spot. I will post updates this weekend.
Ignore the crazy high #'s it always does that when I add water but the regulates and I leave it vented.
I've got the same thermometer, you can see it in my avatar. What incubator are you using? Keep us posted as mine have hatched and now to worry over yours. Hey, I made a duckling waterer out of a plastic gallon milk jug that so far is working fine with very little mess. I couldn't keep the little buggers dry without depriving them of water!!I increased my humidity a little today, getting ready for lockdown. I admit, I thought you had the 0's on the end of the egg, but it is an optical illusion. Hey, I wasn't going to complain if you had good hatch results and you turned your eggs end-to-end ! But I was very very curious......lol.Solo is great, so spoiled! Runs around like a crazy guy and loves the water.
I have X and O on the eggs, the reason it looks like it's on the end is because they are slightly tilted and prob the angle of the pic. but it's in the middle of the egg. I have a homemade incubator that has worked really well and I've had great hatches (except the last one). I turn them and shift them around 3 times a day and mist and cool them once a day. I will be asking more questions as time gets closer!!![]()
