Thanks Rebecca I might just take you up on that lol --
Also I have a cousin here in Hutingdon who has had horses all her life. If something comes up you can't find an answer to about your horse maybe I can put you two together. I went over a few weeks ago and saw her halsingers? Man talk about Beautiful-- What kind of horse is it that you are getting? She's also got the paint horses. I need to take the camera over one day and post some pics on our yahoo group.
If I was in better financial shape, I would probaly have a menagerie.!!
I went yesterday to Yuma to pick up my neighbor"s pair of geese that bought up there. While I was there close I went over to the lady who raises seramas house and wow!! My mouth was just watering!! She had some young ones for sale for $3 apiece but I know that seramas are not too cold hardy so I held out and didn't get any. She also had a whole flock of young turkens. Not my cup of tea but they were very friendly . She also had some blue slate turkeys. All her animals were really tame even the little seramas and turkeys were right around our feet . I have to learn to stay away from people who have animals-- Too much Temptation!!!!!

Ha! we are such enablers. I am setting some of my cuckoo marans eggs and bantam eggs today. In 3 weeks,I might be persuaded to part with some of them. Keep your fingers crossed for a good hatch.

Gina you and Rebecca are killing me!!! lol . My mother is really impressed by the pics of the cuckoo Marans. She likes anything Dominecker colored. She thinks my banties are cute but her and my grandmother like what I call the Big Butt chickens. Rocks Wyandottes, orpingtons etc. She was really impressed when I showed her pics of the chocolate covered eggs!!

On another subject I started another post and and asked about making the pink silkies from red and lavender . Am getting all kinds of responses. some are really informative. I don't know if I know how to link but I will try. BackYardChickens Forum / Whatcolor cross of Silkies does it take to make Pink silkies? Hope that works --- Wayne Hope katie sees this?

yes that is their real feather color. It is a combination of lavender and red, I think it takes 2 generations to make them, I will be getting with the person who made these and find out the exact way she did them.
