Well we're finding out Vader our black Australorp rooster has been busy romancing the EE ladies. 4 of 6 so far are solid black and their mom's are mostly white and brown.

My mom canna had 7 white crested black polish roo chicks.
That's an interesting sex link ..pretty birds though.

Nope colors on 3 of the 4 of newest batch look straight Black Australorp. Although mom's are EE'S so may get some straight Black EE'S. Of my first batch the Australorp mix is solid black but has black and yellow mottled feet
The remaining chick from last batch has a yellow belly but rest is solid black. Will be interesting to see what they turn out looking like .

Only my 4black Australorps. My silver Ameraucana are black with silver or silver pencilling. All my Easter Egger are white and black. Except for 2 reds.

I had to sleep with 2 hens last night, they had baseball size crops, and needed the belly rubs and electrolytes.
we watched a movie on the laptop. they like that!

Day 19 of the first batch in new Hovabator. About to pull what little hair I have left.
By day 18 of last batch in Janoel incubator we had all 7 that hatched out and about.
Not even a pip yet starting to worry. Guess I will candle tomorrow despite lockdown.
