Bought an automatic turner yesterday for the eggs i set. I realized I wouldn't be able to turn them as often as I'd like. Had to reconfigure the temperature since the eggs now sit a little higher. Good luck everyone!!

At little late to the party but I set 30 eggs in the bator on Aug 2nd. I usually don't got past memorial day with hatching but with the crazy weather we've been having in the NW this summer all my hens have decided to go broody at some point. Only two, thank goodness, have been serious. But it's still got me itching for some more chicks!

Even later, but I set 9 black copper marans last night and will add 12 more this evening. They're all shipped eggs from two diff sources and my luck with shipping hasn't been good so far. Really hoping a few hatch this round.

I've got four thermometers in the incubator and they are all reading 99-100. I'm using my homemade incubator w cpu fan air circulation.

Good hatch wishes to all.

Good luck to everyone. My broody hen finally accepted the eggs and started sitting on them yesterday morning so is approaching the end of day two. Even the huge storm we had here last night did nothing to deter her - yeah!

Today was Day#5, so I did some candling. Four out of the entire dozen look infertile. I separated them from the rest, but kept them in just in case(although I'm definitely sure they're infertile). Luckily, all four are Easter Egger eggs. I'm glad it wasn't one of the Marans or the mystery tinted egg(hoping it's a Black Australorp). Anyone else do some candling?

Nope. My broody hasn't moved off the eggs while I've been around. I hope she's getting off to eat and drink but its certainly not while I'm watching her and I decided not to disturb her to candle. When I incubated, I waited until day 10 to candle but I think this time I'm just gonna let my broody do it all and won't worry about the candling part of it.
