August 2016 Hatch-A-Long

4 out of incubator so far!

Ok I think I'm having first time hatching jitters, ive read about so many things that can and do go wrong with incubating. The biggest temperature, and I've been off on mine for 13 days now fluctuating between 95-97, and my humidity has been between 30-40 I thought that would be ok until I read a few posts on here. I've raised the parameters and am holding steady at 99-100 temp and 46-50 humidity. So far all my eggs have developed nicely but I'm afraid that they will be born with deformities or DIS, because I've read the crucial part of growth and development the fist 14 days, my question is has anyone successfully hatched eggs at a lower temp, and do you think raising the parameters at this point will even help? I only have one week left! Thank you

My understanding (no experience with low temp hatches) is that at minimum it can add a couple of days to your expected hatch date IF the temp wasn't too low. You are too far along to not let them finish so either way, you will be wiser in the end.

With the lower temperature it will just take them longer to hatch they should be fine just keep temperature up for now. The first time I hatched eggs my temp was to low about 2 degrees to low they was fine just took 25-26 days for them to hatch. Best thing to do is just relax they will be ok.

OK thanks you! And congrats on the cute chicks!

I just pulled out 1 golden and 1 silver coturnix egg from the genesis bator that were rotten on day 5.

Is it a coincidence that the rwo eggs were in the lower left corner where I fill the water tray with a syringe? If water splashed up from the bottom could it cause an egg to foul?

Candled the clears at day 10 and removed each of them. I may have taken a quick peek at the remaining 10, all developing well and dancing around!

BTW, I have the Incuview from Incubator Warehouse incubator. I have been pretty impressed with it so far!
