August Hatch-A-Long

Pics
Wasn't sure myself, everything I've read said it wasn't possible, so many concerned with power outages, these guys were out for about 5 hours.. These guys survived being out of the incubator for probably 8 hours, being bounced around the back of my car.. I'll transfer to the tote tomorrow and take some better pictures.

I wasn't sure neither, but thought that I would do that experiment with you. You already have those chick's daddy over there with you now also, and he will father more chick's for you.

Here are the babies :) , moved them from the incubator to their brooder tote.. 2 eggs still in the incubator and 4 chicks out of 6, still waiting on the other two.. Not sure who's hatch or if it will be considered a collective effort since @BlueBaby started them and I finished the hatching process. There are 3 NN's and 1 full feathered.

Oh I love NN!!! Are they all white NNs? Congratulations on your adorable hatch!!!:celebrate

I did day 6 candling of my Marans eggs, which are difficult to see through but I'm fairly confident I have 6 infertile eggs and a very early quitter bloodring. I'll candle again around day 10 or so before I toss out the infertile/quitter eggs but thought I would share the images of Marans candling since they can be tough for those new to candling.

Thanks for this, I'm candling my Marans tonight, I did it in day 5 and thought I saw one clear one and one bloodline and 4 with black dots. My candler is good and looks like those pictures

Whoo hoo! Fingers crossed for a great hatch!
Patience has been out of stock for months. :lau
