August Hatch-A-Long!

I just bought a shipment of those mixes...I just adore bantams...I love the birds that love you bac
Off topic a little...I ordered some day old silkie chicks that were supposed to be delivered by Friday, but I just got a tracking update today and now they are going to be delayed until Saturday! That means they will be 4 to 5 days old when they arrive. I am so worried that there are going to be severely dehydrated and/ or dead when they arrive :'(

Have you ever expire cued such a thing? If you have, any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
How far is the main post office? If you look at the past tracking on other packages there might be a point where they all go before getting to your post office. You can call that one and ask them to hold it so you can pick it up there. That could save a day in transport. Mine is an hour away. I don't know if yours would be that close.

no that's not who mine were from! I just cleared an entire shipment from a different breeder...none were viable! UGH! but it looked like the post may have caused the problem all the air cells were a mess! she's sending me more...I have 2 other batches from 2 other breeders going in over the next few days!

Chicken Lady I don't know!!

these are my babies from the last 2 days...well granddaughter set them so I guess they're hers

and these are my 5 week old Frizzles...Salt and Pepper...Salt's comb is getting a little pinky! I would love it!

Ugh
with shipped eggs expect only half to even start...I just cleared from 1 batch of 17 shipped 6 eggs...1 batch of expensive silver and gold laced silkie eggs, NONE yeah! and out of 10 bantam, frizzle, sizzle mixes...all were duds! out of 8 bearded americanas 3 were duds....but that's not even getting to the hatch! I'll be lucky if half of the started ones hatch!!
! Ugh! That makes me sick to my stomach. I didn't pay an outrageous amount but is like to get something! It's hard to come by porcelain and lavenders here in TX!

Quote: I know, i am sick about it too. I feared this would happen and almost didnt order, but they assured me they would be delivered Thursday or Friday at the latest. I feel so guilty for their suffering.

It's been 37 hours since 'Pip' pipped her shell. Over that time period she has made the hole a little larger so its about the size of my pinky nail but she hasn't tried to zip. I can see her beak (kinda) through the hole moving around but she doesn't seem to be turning. I'm worried that since she pipped so long ago she may have shrink wrapped and can't turn to zip out. My humidity dropped today to around 63 which worried me but I have since corrected it. If I chirp she chirps back but doesn't make any progress. I have work yet again in the morning and again won't be home until late late evening as I have a wedding rehersal and dinner I have to make it to right after work. My question is should I try to help her out? Maybe chip part of the shell away along where she would zip until I can see her? I'm just so worried that she's stuck in there. Although she did pip 2 days early. Hatch day wasn't supposed to be until tomorrow so maybe she's not ready...One of her mates pipped earlier today and seems to be zipping DOWN instead of across...It's only a 1/2 inch so maybe he'll correct course...
