These 3 are from the first hatch of August, 1 Lav Am, 1 Lav Orp, and one BYMix (probably EE). Will get the Brahmas and the CCL from July when they go outside in a little bit, they refuse to stand still in the brooder and my BR and one of the EEs keep photo bombing (such hams!)

I felt like I was getting my fix this morning. I met a guy at an auction that has eggs. He's a driver for UPS so I met him at 5:45AM in the parking lot to buy eggs and 2 chicks.

I now have two tiny Mille Fleur chicks in with my 2 hatched chicks. They seem happier with company. I have 3 Golden Red Pheasant eggs, 4 MilleFleur eggs and 10 Orpington eggs going into the incubator today thanks to my early morning parking lot drug deal, I mean chick/egg deal.

Oh my, you should never add chicks from an outside source to your own flock without quarantine for a minimum of 30 days!

Ok this guy just hatched right before my eyes but it has this gunk attached to it and as it wiggled away it detached. Idk what this this is and what it means for the chick.

It's ok, that is normal "goo"........lol

It sure is! But I think I've got a dead one in the egg. It pipped but hasn't moved since yesterday morning and it's pip was facing the floor, not the lid of the bator and looked to be upside down. He hasn't made any progress and isn't moving. Should I cont to wait?

I just noticed we live rather close... I'm in Colleyville. We should totally meet up some time!

just put the cochin bantam eggs in lock down. due the 17th. day late. I found all these eggs in the chicken house I don't expect a large hatch.
