August Hatch-A-Long!

Ok guys.... I think it's time I intervene, at least with one. In the pic below the egg the chick is facing has been stuck that way since yesterday morning, no progress made and I'm sure it's dead- I stuck a straw threw the hole and tapped it and no response. Should I open to double check or take it out? I don't want to compromise the rest of the hatch or the ones already hatched. Also, the egg next to the chick in the pic has been struggling to get out. It's cracked most of the egg around the zip but hasn't completely broke through the inner layer and I can see its turning a tannish color. I don't think that's a good sign. Please help!!!

It does sound like it's time to intervene. It also sounds like the membrane is drying out. Just take it slow, just in case it might still be alive. Take it to the bathroom and run hot water with the door shut. So the humidity will keep it warm while you're working.

Well, I took the one out that hadn't moved and it was indeed dead. it looked like his wings were tucked in and his head twisted the opp way. The other I chipped away at the zip and all he had to do was stretch... he was so tired. He busted halfway open now but he's got a reddish goopy thing in the shell...idk what that is so I'm waiting it out.

sweet whats happening?
4 are out and well. The one I said was upside down and prob dead was dead, I did an eggtopsy and it looked like his wings were tucked in it's body and it's head twisted the other way... def malpositioned. It's yolk was still pretty large too. The other that had almost completely zipped needed assistance. It's membrane was drying out and getting goopy looking. I finished with the unzipping and tore away at some of the tanned membrane. He ended up busting out but now he's wobbling around with what part of the sac that some of the others hatched with but it's still attached to him and it look redder than the others. I got 2 others that have pipped but not zipped and 2 that have still not don't anything.

the one with the yolk...isolate it...do you have a small cup you can line with a warm damp wash cloth set the chick in it bundle the towel up around it so it's firmly in sitting straight up....under the brooder light..do you have any antibiotic salve without pain killer...but that on and let it finish absorbing
So take it out the incubator? I just saw this after running an errand. It's fading fast. It's breathing is very short. I can still do what you're saying but I just want to clarify I need to take it out the bator, and place bacitracin on it's naval? what about the sac attached to it? Leave it?
