August Hatch-A-Long!

Entirely up to you. I know most people put at least a breed on them, some add the date. Good luck on your hatch!

familypendragon--that's the worst case of scrambled eggs I've ever seen, oye vey. Fingers crossed you get at least a couple to grow.
I know right? And it had to be the rarest of the rare - the ones all my previous hatches were supposed to be practice for so I wouldn't screw them up :(

Oh my gosh that is awful! We're they insured? I don't think I would set them due to the broken egg stuff everywhere inside. If they were that broken, I doubt the others were not scrambled internally. :(
They were insured, so I submitted a claim online on the USPS site and attached a copy of my payment for them as proof of cost, and lots of pictures as proof of damage. We'll see what happens. I have done my best to wipe them off... I don't have oxine but I am going to mist them with a colloidal silver solution if I have enough left. Can't hurt, might help... we'll see.

Omg I gotta cull this little guy. He was born with his intestines out. :(

Sorry :(

Well out of the fourteen I set here I only got one out of fourteen to hatch. Egg topsy revealed a few quitters and a bunch that didnt even start, like infertiles:(. They were laid at the height of the heat wave here though so I suspect the low fertility is due to heat stress. I will try again probably the first week of September with some more partridge rocks and hopefully some silkies and polish:)

It is good you could do what needed to be done. I know it isn't easy, but she needed you and you were there for her to ease her suffering

Thank you and @heidisgran it wasn't easy. But I just couldn't sit there and let her suffer. I gave her through the night. But when I realized what I was truly looking at I had to do it. It's a part of life. And unfortunately a part of what we as chicken lovers have to do sometimes. I appreciate the kind words.
