I have an early bird, the little bugger is already running around. I'm guessing by the puffy cheeks it's one of the EE/Barred Rock Xs




Mom jumped out of the nest to chase him, she had several more pipping under her. I shoved her back in, along with Mr. Troublemaker (it must be a he, considering the problems he's already given me). Hopefully the rest will continue hatching. Won't get much sleep tonight, for sure.

My poor eggs

Awww... I have never gotten shipped eggs, but I would definitely try a different shipper. I would candle light them to make sure those that didn't crack, look internally normal before setting them

I think that I might go ahead and lock my eggs down in the morning. Tomorrow is day 17. My temp has run .1-.2 degrees higher than it should have and everybody inside is moving around great. What does everybody think?
