I used warm water & a q tip. I was brushing it back along the eye lid, it looked like the top lid was flipped out so I brushed it forward, now it looks like a regular chick. Bleghhh oh the thought of it's eye lid coming off.... This is the best pic I could get.
Hopefully it won't heal shut. I wonder how it happened??? She's got 3 hatched so far.

Sometimes that straw can scratch the eye.

miracle chick is in the brooder now with it older siblings but there is a hardware cloth barrier so the older ones cant pick on it. had went to see how she was doing in the bator and she wasn't in her silicone muffin mold she was out moving under the egg turner. she is half dried and fluffed i turned up the temp in the brooder for miracle since she's not fully fluffy yet...she is doing so great
Yeah, a miracle chick! I have one of those, it survived a power outage and my incubator got down to 80 degrees, thank goodness I wasn't there or I would have been so upset...and panicking like crazy.

Ok so it has been in the 100's here where I live and I kinda let some eggs pile up before I decided to put them in the bator. Is it possible for some to have started developing before others? I ask because I just put my eggs on lockdown this morning only to come home to this:

It's that or I am losing my mind and I miss marked my calendar...but there are no other pips. I hope I didn't mess everything up by opening it up and turning eggs when they should have been in lockdown

I just went out to see my chicks and broody i took them all out of the nesting box to play the chicks and there mum are have bales of hay around them in the hay shed cause they are sharing the hay shed with my 15 week old muscovy duckling one crepted out through a crack in the bales so it could see the duck and my female muscovy started to hiss at the baby it was really funny to watch they are about 2 days old if the chicks gets out of the bales again will my muscovy hurt them?

My muscovy's go after my dog's if they get to close and one is a big yellow lab! Of course that's a bit different than a chick, but I would keep an eye on them!
