August Hatch-A-Long!

Really hope everyone's eggs do better from here on out.  There have been so many problems with hatches in the last 2 months.  Wonder what is happening to the little chickies to be.  :fl for everyone still hatching away on here!

I hope so too. Enough sadness already. I have 10 little eggs in the bator due on 21st then I am done! At least until next spring, then we will see. How about everyone else, who still has their bator running and will you be doing more after this batch are done?

let me know I'm curious! I am sorry I would be the same if it were me...

This is my first hatch and eggs in the bator due on the 15th. I've had an ok run so far, but the true test comes during pipping. I'll let you know f I plan to hatch again this season after these fellers hatch

Mine is running with chicks due on the 19th. I will be hatching all winter long. My son is being deployed in Sept. and what better way to mark the time until he returns than by hatching chicks? It will keep me occupied and give me something to fret about when I'm not at work :)

I have a single Lav orp from a horrible hatch...I got a clutch of eggs from our Roxanne on here Lav americana and lav orps due about the 19th....doing really well so far...
the little Lavender orp that I did get from that batch is about 4 weeks...so beautiful!! little girl!

Aw, she is the one I got my Lav Orps and Lav Ams from, only one Lav Am made it, and I think its a roo (by wing feathers) and one Lav Orp (female by wing feathers), along with a mix (also pullet by wings at one day). Will see how they turn out. Many of ours were malpositioned, not sure why. Her birds are stunning though, and Rox is a delight to talk to, especially as newer chicken owners! Would be more than willing (and probably will before the summer is done), to get more eggs or chicks from her! She really was a joy! Just sad I had so many "up side down" chicks. Best of luck with yours!!!! We are deciding how many roos will be too many! We can legally own them, and all but 1 neighbor doesn't care about the crowing (though with our neighbors that illegally have 5 noisy beagle/basset mixes, not sure the one older gent living right next to them will notice), so we may keep 2-3, including this Am from her, he seems great so far! Way far behind the 2 that hatched after him in feathers though. Absolutely hope you get a great hatch out of her eggs! Love her already! Along with jmj in MO! We have perfect (for my taste, not show taste) GL Brahmas from her!
