I don't know anything about silkies, unfortunately....
I am excited! Hatched my first EE cross Golden Laced Wyandotte chick, I hope it isn't a rooster.... I am hoping to get a better hatch next time

Yay, my heater problems didn't kill everything. Lots of unfertelized eggs but of the shells I could see through today(day12) I saw at least 12 wigglers..

Yes, that is the article, thanks! I am going to stop turning on the 16th day, It couldn't hurt, and since so many of the eggs didn't make it to this point, they must have not had a great time going thru the postal service.

With my home grown I incubated in turners and then hatched on sides in the hatcher - no wiggling

I've seen mine rocking before pipping. My one breech that died, was rocking the day before it died.

WHAT DO I DO WHAT DO I DO???? The hum dropped to 62% and I added water but too much... it's spiking to 87% and I've already taken out water in a small container by means of a stray attached to a syringe. IDK WHAT TO DO!!!

I just saw your post...how is the humidity now? A temporary high shouldn't hurt anything. I noticed that my humidity goes all over the place at different times like when a chick hatches it goes up in the 80's for a while, then as the chick dries it comes back down to normal. All the other chicks still in their eggs were not effected.

Sometimes it's not that you added too much, sometimes if you add hot water it can temporarily increase the humidity but will balance itself out once the water cools to the bator temp.
