did you candle them
Oh noopen my peachick that I lost hope in and was officially due today...it died due to rupturing it's yolk....it was beautiful UGH!![]()
I've had hatches on day 25..so that is the number for me.
And... since my shipment of Quechuas and Colloncas seems to have fallen through again this week I figured why not throw another dozen of my mutts in there too... since I am already had turning multiple batches... why not FILL THE BATOR! LOL! If I am lucky I will get a few EE's out of my Lav Ameraucana/White Leghorn possible crosses. And maybe some olive eggers.I have a hatch due Monday..Tuesday ...a few next Friday shipped eggs resting right now and eggs that went in on the 9th...so I'm with ya!![]()
I believe they can go 2 days without food and water, but don't quote me, it may be 24 hours. So yea you'd have to snatch them up quickly. Just make sure they're completely dry. Will the hatched ones be ok in there that long? Or is it ok to open it fast enough to snatch them out?

(Yes I know I am talking to myself) Duh, just realized - this works perfectly! Barred rocks are shipped eggs - therefore go into hatcher on day 16. Quechua and Colloncas are shipped eggs therefore must sit out at least 24 hours to settle before going in the incubator - so PERFECT timing actually! Day 16 out come the barred rocks and in go the Q & C (too dang long to keep typing, LOL!) Woohoo - go me!AND... I just got an update that the Quechua and Colloncas WERE shipped and will be here in the morning
So..... Barred Rocks will be hitting the hatcher a day early. OK... no big deal.... I can managed this :cd LOL!
Quote: I've had babies that were set the same day hatch over 3 days so I agree unless you are really confident....I would candle and see if there is movement...and sniff them lol
