6 more days till mine hatch!! What day do they usually pip? And what day is it I should be camped in front of the incubator?

I hope you get the coop!! I keep looking on our craigslist and havn't found any for free

I got it, I got it! It is so cute too... needs a little clean up but it is a cute little cedar house with cedar shingles and a little nest box on the side. It came with a run, it really is nice. the trick was trying to get the house off and the run on top of my car ; ) My son and I did it.. still not sure how!!

It is so funny because I was really needing another heat lamp and almost went and bought one yesterday.. there was a practically new heat lamp inside the coop with a couple feeders and then in the yard was just the top part of a waterer like one I have. On mine the base is fine but the top was broken so it was a perfect replacement. This sort of thing has happened to me before where a bunch of things I need/want come to me all at once!

I'll post a pic when I get the run off my car!

And... I have a trembling egg! Come on little Serama!

It is a little hard to say! Can you wait till they pip and then suddenly be sick

Just kidding! I purposely had my heat a little high on this last hatch... around 100 to 101 and so they hatched late on day 20... early morning 21... like 3 am early. With temp at 99.5 they will probably mostly hatch on day 21. Days 21 and 22 might be best... there might not be much to see day 20. and then you will have time to play with and watch over the new babies!

Is anyone else having trouble uploading pics? Been trying all afternoon without success. The image uploads to about 75% then stops and I get an error message. Have tried different pics with the same results.

Ok thank you! I'm nervous I won't be there for the first pip! Does that happen usually on day 21 or 20? My fiancé will be home but I want to be there since I'm a control freak.

And I just candled again. It looks like one of my bigger eggs has two different black spots. I'm at day 15 and the embro is this egg doesn't seem as big as the others, and I noticed a fairly big space between the other black embryo looking shape inside. Maybe I'm just not seeing it connect but I'm worried it may be twins.

I really didn't want this to happen since I know they will more than likely die and I hate I didn't see that before.

YES! just one so far. Today was only day 20 but late this morning I had 2 pipping through the shell, then one of them just kicked the shell apart and flopped out. He probably came out a tad too soon, had a bit of something still hanging out of his belly, but wasnt bleeding, maybe was just part of the umbilical attachment. That tissue has now dried up. Baby is eating a bit , drinking and has pooped once. The other is still in the shell and working at the hole.

Ok thank you! I'm nervous I won't be there for the first pip! Does that happen usually on day 21 or 20? My fiancé will be home but I want to be there since I'm a control freak.

I don't know what day your eggs will pip... you mostly just have to go with the flow of it.... not the easiest thing for a "control freak", I know!
