I am sorry you lost your chick...![]()
I understand the discouragement! For my first hatch I followed the directions I found online and after 28 days, none of my duck eggs hatched. It was tragic at the time. It is hard when the learning curve takes tiny little lives, but I really believe that we are brave for trying!
I find that with each hatch I learn so much... so if you try again sometime, you'll already have this experience to make your next hatches better and better.
Enjoy your two chicks... I can't wait to see them!![]()
Also... I bury my eggs and chicks that don't make it, it just feels right to me. I wrap them in a paper towel until I am able to take them outside.
Thank you so much for this post! This made me feel so much better about the whole situation
you have no idea how much comfort that short paragraph just gave me. I am taking your advice and going to wrap and burry them. Next to my other chicks that died about a year ago. They were sick shortly after I got them and never grew
So thanks again so much for your kind words. I would like to hatch some more, but I think I am going to start in the middle of September and be extra prepared. I will probably go ahead a buy a nicer bator and try a smaller clutch next time .
My fiancé says he is going to try and hatch his own out of a home made incubator so we shall see.

I will for sure post pictures!!
