August Hatch-A-Long

I have 8! I have 8 now! 4 Silkies and 4 of my mixed babies. Mine are all dark but one is lighter than the others. The silkies are 2 and 2, cream and a silver look. One of my first hatched babies, might have been the first one, is one that has that grumpy look. LOL I look forward to taking lots of pictures of it.
WOW! That is so very exciting!!! Way to go, Mama Sylviaanne!

I love everyone's candle days, too! I can't wait to get home tonight...:~)

Movement!!! We saw 3 little bouncing dark blobs of joy. Eggs #5, 15, & 12. I have no idea what kind of eggs they are, except #12 is an assorted bantam. (PLEASE BE A BUFF ORPINGTON AND A BLACK AUSTRALORP HEN, & MY LITTLE HEART'S DESIRE - A MILLE DE FLEUR D' UCCLE BANTAM HEN, PLEASE OH PLEASE) It was so amazing!! Lol, i acted like i was having an ultrasound. DH only poked fun at me a little bit :). I could clearly see veins in 2 other eggs (UM, A BARRED ROCK & SPECKLED SUSSEX WWWOOUUULLLDD BE NICE, TOO). So I think 5 out of 16 are alive. The other asstd. Bantam egg had the only definitely detached air cell, & what looked like a bloody blob fall from the side to the bottom when i turned it on its side. There also was what appeared to be a dark little dead chick in it which didn't move. 3 of the ones i didn't see anything promising in look like they might be starting the dreaded red ring of death. The remaining 7 looked clear, i couldn't identify an air cell in 4 of those. I know these #s aren't good, but it's far better than i thought it would be...can't wait for day 10 candle!!! LOL I made all the kids & their friends come in to watch the moving embryos bounce around. This seriously felt like Christmas morning.

Yay!! It is so exciting seeing the little blobs dance around in their temporary homes! :) I hope you get all the chickies on your wish list.

hey:) My buff orpington is currently hatching with eggs from the 25th to yesterday. They're all dark brown except two (those two are only under her since yesterday though, but I still candled them anyway) They were all porous (uh oh, right?) In the oldest eggs I could see the air sac moving around the place, and nothing else. Im afraid to throw out the eggs incase there are little chicks inside, but at the same time I don't want to leave them there because they might explode and mess up all the other eggs. What should I do? Do you think there is any hope for chicks? Thanks:)

I forgot to update! I candles the other day, on day 7 (yeah, I made it)! Only 9 of my eggs passed the test :/ All of them are from my Silkies though, so that makes me happy! I'm already collecting up another batch of eggs to go in the incubator, so I'll probably be sticking around for a while ;)
