Day 6. I'll see if I can wait to candle until tomorrow, but I'll probably throw whatever I have (probably ~60 eggs) into the empty incubator tonight.

LOL I think I have my hands full with 16! Wow! I think you must have an auto turner...what kinds of eggs will you be hatching?Day 6. I'll see if I can wait to candle until tomorrow, but I'll probably throw whatever I have (probably ~60 eggs) into the empty incubator tonight.
So far looking good! I know I have some brown eggs that are hard to tell, so green and blue would be impossible! I always have maybes because I am not that great at early candling...but I am learningWell, not too much news after candling. As I suspected, those blue and green eggs are just impossible to candle at this point. I can't even see the air cells in a few of them! Most of my white and brown eggs are looking good though. I marked a bunch of eggs to recheck in a few more days. I only took one egg out. It was definitely clear! I don't think that one even had a yolk in it. I'm not sure how I missed that when I set my eggs... But I somehow accidentally set a double yolk egg too... Whoops! I found one other egg that has the air cell on one of the sides instead of at the end. I'm not even sure how that could've happened. I have had them all big end up basically since they were laid!

Whoaaa!! That is a lot of candling!! A candle-o-holics dream!!!!Candled 91 jumbo coturnix eggs on day 6 - my first batch from my own hens - and I pulled 12 clears, plus one I dropped a clear egg on and crackedSome of the clears had visible weaknesses in the shell when candling, so they may not have been infertile and instead just failed to develop. I'll have to increase the amount of oyster shell I mix in with their feed.![]()
Put ~85 eggs in my empty DIY incubator today. I noticed that the eggs that had been sitting for a few days seemed much more smooth and polished vs. the eggs I collected over the last 2 days. Not sure what's up with that. Maybe some of the calcium was absorbed? I haven't read up on that.
