August Hatch-A-Long

I can't believe it, but with tonight's day 14 candle I saw 7 bouncing little blobs of joy, showing off in the stage lights LOL. It took a while, & I had to get creative with a second flashlight, but once i figured out how to see in all the dark ones that's where the dancing little chickies were!
Just saw this.. happy for you!!

I have 4 little bundles of joy, with 3 more still to hatch under my broody!! 2 silkies or sizzles (1 grey and 1 multi coloured) and 2 multi coloured frizzles so far. They are so tiny and fluffy and absolutely adorable!! *squeals*

Thank you! I wasn't expecting to see that many alive. 3 of these eggs I had marked with question marks because until last night I couldn't see ANYTHING in them...not even an aircell or veins. Adding that 2nd flashlight was such a great idea! I only saw movement in 1 egg until I added it. So, 7 out of 16 that I know are alive...I feel so blessed!

How cool! I love silkies!! I'd love to see a pic of the multi colored one. Has crackle internally or externally pipped? Come on little buddy, we're all rooting for you!!!

I am glad I have your support ; )   I already ordered another 24+ Serama eggs that will likely ship next week... so excited!  After that I will try to take a break.. I am already hatching some chicks I will need to find homes for!
ooh...seramas are on my wish list...don't have any eggs. All of mine are common breeds. But if meyer had any seremas i'd have grabbed those eggs up n a heartbeat. I can't wait to hear how your hatch goes!

As soon as I can figure out how to post pictures, I will! Crackle has pipped externally, and I'm loving hearing the little chirps. :) I think it's beginning to unzip now too! Nervously excited!

Can I join?  I think I made up a new swear word when I opened the egg box to see how many eggs I have to set and try to hatch!
Along with new swear word I think I instantly added about 100 more grey hairs and at least three new wrinkles.
I wish you(z) the bestest.... please please please do the same for me. (Flarbenuegger):sick
Of course you can join in...welcome to our descent into madness...:) we should form a support group club & our team shirt could be a straight jacket. So just how many eggs did you order? Where did they come from & what kinds of chickens will they be?

Today is day 8 but I just finished candling my eggs. I have a lot of them with veining and some with some movement. I have NEVER seen an embryo move before and there are several of them moving. I took 6 eggs out from under my broody hen because she had 14, not all hers. I added them to my incubator and they seem younger than the eggs in the incubator. I thought they would be a bit older. I need to take more eggs out from under my broody because either the other girls are laying on her and laying their eggs or they are laying when she is up getting a drink and pooping.

I only have room in this incubator for 2 more eggs but I think if I have to take more from her, I will have to use the other incubator.

Thanks guys, I'm so glad I have others to share with. When I told my hubby I'd cracked another one, all I got was :idunno

Y'all understand ;)  :hugs
We DO understand! My dh is a really compassionate animal over, but he's feeling a bit overwhelmed, with our little flock of 8 plus 7 more possibly coming next week. I don't think we have all the hens we need, & he's fretting over the logistics as we are building our 'Happy Hen Hut' this week...

The first chick that hatched with my broody wyandotte, Sammy. A little multi coloured silkie or sizzle that we have dubbed "Friday". Sooo cute!
