That is awesome you had such a great egg to candle! I tead that many eggs hatch out without their movement showing up on candles, so maybe your cracked egg will make it. Keep us updated!@ChookyGirl
Thank you! Yes, our heartbeat and little foot egg is #2. I didn't know that about eggs without movement, that gives me extra hope for #12. Will definitely keep you posted!
I just set 14 eggs today... mostly mixed but possible full speckled sussex and copper maran. I am excited to see how these develop! I have never hatched "normal" chicken eggs before... only ducks, peafowl and serama chickens. I guess I have to wait a few days to candle them ; )
Well it looks like a lot of late deaths but over all we got 10 out of 17 eggs! 10 chicks are doing great and we are so happy with them! Took them out for a second this afternoon (100 degrees + in the sun here! Ugg) to take a picture.
Oh my goodness, that much cuteness should be outlawed in a single picture! They are so sweet & beautiful. Do i see Polish poofs? Did you get your eggs shipped or local? Congratulations!!!

these babies hatched the 28th and momma still has an egg under her but its not due for probably another week so if she gives it up and starts to get up and move to much i'll give it to another broody but so far she staying put.
i also have three more eggs under one of my cochin hens who hatched and raised 3 chicks back in May so she should have more babies in a couple weeks and i'll get pics when they hatch...this hen is one of my best momma's the serama above and another cochin being the others.

All but two of those chicks came from shipped eggs. No polish, those we hope are sizzles. Most likely though they will be silkies and frizzles. I would love polish chicks!
