I have brown eggs and couldn't see anything until last night (day 5) when others see stuff at day 3, so I think it just depends on how dark your eggs are.
Here is my egg at day 5.

Well today is day 5. I will candle on Saturday. I attempted to candle last night but my barnevelder eggs are too dark to see any veins. Is it normal to miss them at this age? Will I be able to see anything a little later?

Candle days should be 7, 14 and 18...I guess some do more...the less you handle the eggs the better. although I know its said a lot of people aren't sure on some before day 10

#2 is out and #3 is working on it...no others have pipped through yet. They sure aren't in any hurry! lol

I haven't seen any wiggling or heard any peeps & tomorrow is day 21. I was told my hatch might be delayed a day cuz of the power outage. But should i be seeing some wiggling by now? Would I mess up the chance of hatching if I candled again?

Oh ok! Well I did see some that were darker like that. I just couldn't see any veins. Should I just wait until day 14 to candle again? These are shipped eggs and I don't want to hurt them by handling them too much. I'm just worried about bad eggs exploding lol. My bator is in my room so that would be a bad experience all the way around! Thanks so much for the replies! Congrats to those who have hatched! I'm excited to see my babies!

Yeah I would wait until day 14. You would smell the bad eggs before they exploded.

I understand where you are coming from. So many of us where having to sit on our hands so we wouldn't candle..lol Like I said I'm new at this but you might wait to day 10 and candle since the are shipped eggs but maybe someone else will comment with another idea I know a bad egg is no fun but as long as there isn't a smell or leakage you should be fine. Yay!! doing good! Mine are going slow but its just now 21 days...lol
