LOL...yes!!!! Life revolves around that little bator until they hatch! And somehow you just feel better hovering over it

yes! Last time I took a break beginign of day 21 after being up for 2 days with Lucky while he hatched and when I woke up the incubator was up to 116 and rest of the chicks have died so I am very paranoid this time around. Although it hasn't gone above 102 all week.

OH NOOOOO!!! I am so sorry

Did you figure out why it increased in temp so high? Sounds like it is stable now, but I know how you feel. Once something goes wrong, you are totally afraid to let anything out of your sight...just in case! Who knew hatching would be so exhausting!!!!!!

A few things went wrong. I THOUGHT I had the 25watt light in...turns out I had the 60watt in, way too high for the cooler. And I had the thermostat unhooked. So I will be up until they hatch when I sleep my husband will be on duty haha! I will feel so much better once I have a hatch where I don't accidently kill them all. Hatching eggs has been one of the most stressfull things I have gone through! But so worth it!

Well I now know for sure that Both chicks are alive. I wasn't too sure about the darker silkie egg. But looks like either both have internally piped or are gettign ready to. I see movement in air cell, shadow but doesn't look like a beak yet. was adding water and figured i'd check he air cell one last time since today is day 18 wouldn't do any harm. I am now leaving the chicks alone until day 24 if they don't hatch.

By this weekend you should have 2 adorable little fluff balls to keep Lucky company

And yes, I always give them 2-3 days after 21 to see if they will hatch. Doesn't really hurt to give the extra time and make sure!

yes I dont want to mess with them until day 24. At which point I will candle if no movement i'll do the float test and if no wiggling I will carefully remove shel and if still alive wrap in warm damp paper towel and back in the incubator. I'll be happy if we get 1 hatch but I have good faith that we may end up with two!!

A little faith goes a long way!!! Stay positive!!!! Especially if things are looking good with both eggs going into lockdown

Waiting is just sooooo hard

I did one last candlign before bed. The one I wasn't sure about had def internally piped, and is peeping away. I bet when I wake up in morning we will have external pip and maybe hatch by tomorrow or Thursday morning. Either I am off by a day on my days or this is going to be another early hatcher.
