August/September 2013 homemade ornament swap

Ummm... that would be 30,000+ names about every 2-6 weeks - they have continual turnover in the hive all summer!

I have a waiting list every year for our honey. I haven't even made it to the farmers' market in about 4 years with any of it left.

Nice!!!! Guess I have wait and see what the hubby is going to do. He wanted to do it this year but got chickens instead

Naming the bees.... now that would be a challenge!!!! I only have my 12 chickens that need my attention....unless you want to count the kids and grand kid!!! :D
Yeah coming UP with 30K+ names and more due to the constant change of the occupants but training them to wear tiny name tags also? Impossible. :D

I am beekeeper, it did not cost me $500 to get started maybe $275 and that includes the bees.

That's interesting to know. I came up with that figure by looking thru to beekeeping magazines and pricing necessities. I also asked several locals and they said that's about what it cost them too so I figured it was a legit price. Wonder why the big discrepancy?

ok cool. Cant do it this time but if yall do it for Oct/Nov would love to sign up then

As long as you subscribe to this thread you will see the link for the next (and last swap of the year) one. They run: June/July, August/September & October/November.

KYTinpusher's honey is very yummy! I have some that I've hidden away so the family can pace themselves

I still haven't made it over to the craft store. I will be making the trip this weekend. We have been busy canning every other day and weekend since we stared harvesting in July
