Australia - Six states..and that funny little island.

I was more concentrated at looking at it claws than it's patterns but looking back on the picture he sure is!
A PET Goanna!!! This one would not have made pet material.lol. To vicious!
What did you feed it?
Yeah, they can get to monumental sizes!!! It's scarey!

YAY. Congratulations!!!!!
So it would be called and OE Sizzle!!
Can't wait to see it grow out!
Mine wasn't vicious, I found him at the rubbish dump when I was about 10 :) he would have been half a foot long :) Raised him on cooked meat, but mum used to throw raw meat out the window to keep him out side lol so she created a monster :) haha My brother and I used to go shooting hares and feed him the young ones :) Leo was just over 8 foot by the time mum shot him :( I still reckon he was legendary for bailing my sister up on the roof of her car haha :) Made my year :) lol

Tootie a turtle dove? They don't usually mate up with anyone different

HAY EVERYONE:frow !!! I had a wingless DRAGON visit our coop yesterday....he came for the peeping of the youngsters and the hatching of eggs. I was on BYC, when we heard this almighty commotion. I raced down to the run and into the nest shed only to find this monster!!!! My 3 Marans X's where only 1 day old when this creature attacked. Broody mum was going bonkers as the Goanna struck several times at her. The chicks and mum where in a sectioned off area of the nest shed and the goanna had managed to get in there. I got broody mum out and trapped the Goanna in the sectioned of area. At this time it was suspected that all the chicks had been eaten:( . I got my dad and sister down and together we managed to heard the lizard into this cage and let me tell you....it wasn't easy. To make things even harder the cage was, well not very capable at containing a Goanna.lol. He almost escaped countless times and this same lizard is a repeat offender, taking several chicks and egg in the past, so this was our chance to finally relocate him! All the neighbors came around for a look before we loaded him onto the ute. Not the best pictures...but when this lizard is hissing up a storm, attacking the cage with his bacteria filled mouth and scratching you sort of loose the nerve to put your hand close and get a picture!! He gave a wicked hiss and charged at us a few times! We know he is the same lizard from previous attacks because of that kinked and gnarled tail. ( Not a great shot ) We loaded him onto the truck and drove him far into the deep dark bush to be released. He had one last charge at me before racing up this tree. I had to leap up onto the truck as he was coming straight for me.lol.
:barnie yikes I'm glad your chicks are all good.

:love
I know of a lady locally who sells day old speckled Sussex. I was warned against buying from her because nearly all of her chicks turn out to be roos. I was privy to a conversation and the general opinion was that she should turn her temp down by 2 degrees and do a test batch to see if it altered the outcome . As I said , I don't know how realistic this is , but I'm guessing that Sid will be ready to give anything a try.
Here's a pic of my orphan duck and his boosum buddy.

:love how cute

I'm in Melbourne at the moment visiting the children and grandchildren, got evacuated yesterday due to the fire in Warrandyte, it was literally around the corner. CFA sent out texts to all the people in the area to evacuate immediately. All safe now but really scary stuff. Panicked a bit as my son was jogging along the river, we had to go looking for him to evacuate.

@fancychooklady was speaking to my husband yesterday and he was telling me the winds were unbelievable in Tassie.

Yes Karen, we lost our beautiful big tree by the river and several down the back.
I'm glad you and your loved ones are safe.

Oh wow fancy although sad but beautiful photo.

The girls are great, tim seems to think they are laying as he found an egg in the coop and one on the grass, both the size of sparrow eggs haha They were a bit hot and bothered yesterday, so they all headed down and camped under the house where it is cool. Tim kept fresh water up to them, and constantly checked my brooder (Hootabell, granddaughter named her and most of the other chooks) She was quite happy he said.

Hootabell, what a hoot ! I found this little egg in the Silkie pen. To the right is a normal sized Silkie egg. The little one is the size of a ten cent piece .
