(TO answer Luke's question for the 3rd time - I know they are show quality because I bought the eggs from the person whose birds won First prize

Ash I think Luke asks because there is a lot of talk on poultry sites about what classes as show quality. I have seen many a debate over the years, I have seen most listed for example as from show winning parents but with the clause of may not produce show quality, It seems to usually come down to finding out the standard for that type of chicken and breeding something as close to perfect as you can from them.
I have pekins and D'uccles from show winning parents... Are they show quality? wouldn't have a clue but they are darn fine looking birds to me.
Another debate on the subject I have seen is . I could for example take my marans to all the little country towns out here and win. I may be the only person that has marans and therefore I win and can sell my birds as show quality,. While I breed as close to standard as I can my birds may not compete with birds from the bigger city shows but I can still sell them as show quality,
My personal opinion on the subject... and that's all it is my opinion.. I would not sell anything as show quality unless that bird won a show... That's not how a lot of others do it and that's fine by me too, each to their own.

You have a nice variety of birds there Ash. Are you still doing your ara/barred rock crosses?
