But I am at wits end with the lorp....... She had a go at me tonight when i let the girls out for a range.....admittedly i did turf her out of the coop.

she managed to get in behind bricks and a ball and knock the wood panel down . . . . very persistent.

On another note is there anywhere in NSW / Australia to get Jersey Giants ?

Welcome back Sam.
O.k got my 3rd and 4th broody today, just in this week Ive gotten 4 broody hen's something is defiantly in the air. Ive decided to put eggs under two(RIR Bantam, Black Sex-Link) and stop the other two, one being a White Leghorn which is quite uncommon as they have been especially bred for laying and never go broody, some hidden mothering instinct must have been set off.

And the much bigger news is I'm moving my chicken run and making a completely NEW coop and roosting shed. More information here-https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...chickens-want-ideas-and-designs#post_10063889 Please help me with it.

She sounds like a real pain Sam. We have 1 malay game that is so friendly normally but when she goes broody she turns into the chicken from hell. She is so violent it's not funny. Can't say i have heard of anyone having Jersy giants so I guess you would be right there Ash. Moving your whole coop sounds like fun Luke. I am prob no help with the design as hubby designed ours. It is huge with seperate sections for breeding hens etc. Their outside pen is 1/4 acres and then i have a door off that that i open to let them free range the back 4 acres. Ours is very rustic made from re-cycled wood and corro but it does the job. Then i have numerous tractor style pens for babies etc. Lucky i have acerage lol.

Yeah we dont have an acreage but we use "no mans land" between our neighbors and ourselves and that combined with our garden is easily big enough for my 25 free ranging chickens and some new ducks i should be getting.

Here is a picture of maxi. He was none to keen on this crazy lady coming into his pen to take a picture so it was the best I could get.

And for luke. This is my main house.

The main door goes into the main section for all the laying hens and to the left is the cochins behind them is maxi and on the right there are 3 seperate sections also for breeders. The corro fence you can see is the beginning of their out door pen and it goes future down the hill way past where the brahma rooster is. It has a door off it that goes out to the rest of the acreage for free ranging. behind the house is quite a large grassy area before you reach the neighbours fence line on the top side.

WOW your lucky, i like it. So do you show or just breed as a hobby. For me, I have a laying flock for selling my eggs to neighbors and my neighbors work friends as well as local surrounding houses. I make quite a bit of money from the eggs which is great because it's like getting paid for my hobby.
