Hello fellow chicken lovers of Australia !!!
NEED HELP AND ADVICE PLEASE....
My Pekin boy Max, has developed an eye infection (?).... One eye is worse than the other, but both are runny with a little bit of pus. I noticed it yesterday afternoon and have cleaned them several times with salt water but they don't seem to be looking any better 24hrs on. Behind his neck (top of wings area) is all tacky on his feathers from where he keeps wiping his eyes, and it smells bad! He doesn't seem to have a runny nose but he does seem to be off his food (not eating his scrambled egg!). I have showered him to wash his yucky feathers as I didn't want him to keep wiping the infection back into his eyes, and since it is very chilly outside, have left him in to the bathroom with the heater on to dry and stay warm. None of the other chickens seem to be sick, only Max.
1. What do you think it might be?
2. What else can I do for him?
Thank you in advance for your help![]()
